Collection: Airsoft AEG Cut-Off Levers

The purpose of an Airsoft AEG cut-off lever is to enable the semi-automatic mode by breaking the electrical circuit after a single shot. Its main benefit is to ensure a single shot is fired and prevents the gun from firing automatically or firing multiple shots by physically lifting the trigger trolley off the contacts. A functioning cut-off lever ensures consistent and safe firing, while its wear can cause issues like continuous firing on semi-auto.

Purpose

To enable semi-automatic fire: The cut-off lever is a key component that differentiates between semi-auto and full-auto modes.

To stop the cycle at the right time: When the sector gear rotates, its cam lobe engages the cut-off lever, causing it to pivot. This action lifts the trigger trolley off the electrical contacts, breaking the circuit and stopping the piston and gear system.

To prevent damage: By preventing continuous firing, it stops the gearbox from over-cycling, which could lead to damage to internal components.

Benefits

Single-shot firing: The primary benefit is the ability to fire a single, controlled shot by simply pulling the trigger, essential for gameplay and safety.

Reliable performance: A well-functioning cut-off lever ensures consistent and reliable single shots, improving the performance of the airsoft gun.

Mode selection: It allows for quick switching between full-auto and semi-auto modes.

Common problems with worn levers

Double-shooting or continuous fire: If the cut-off lever is worn down, the sector gear may not engage it properly, leading to the gun firing multiple shots or continuing to fire on semi-automatic mode.

Trigger lock-up: A worn lever can cause the trigger to lock, resulting in a clicking sound, as the trigger trolley cannot make contact with the electrical contacts.
