Hi-Capa/1911 Sear Springs

The sear spring on an airsoft Hi-Capa or 1911 controls the trigger and hammer, providing the pressure needed to hold the hammer back and releasing it when the trigger is pulled. Its purpose is to ensure proper trigger function, and upgrades often aim to lighten the trigger pull, making it faster, crisper, and more consistent, which is beneficial for competitive shooters. 

Functions of the sear spring:

• Holds the hammer: The spring applies pressure to the sear, a part of the trigger group that catches and holds the hammer in place until the trigger is pulled.

• Controls trigger pull: The amount of pressure the spring exerts on the sear determines the weight of the trigger pull. A heavier pull can make the gun more reliable, while a lighter pull can improve shooting performance.

• Ensures hammer follow prevention: A properly tensioned sear spring is crucial to prevent hammer follow, a condition where the hammer follows the slide forward after firing due to insufficient spring tension.
