Collection: Hi-Capa/1911 Slide Stop/Releases

The slide stop/release on an airsoft Hi-Capa or 1911 serves a dual purpose: to lock the slide back after the last round is fired and to release the slide to chamber a new round. It is also used to manually hold the slide back to clear the weapon or perform a slide lock manipulation. Upgraded versions can offer more surface area for faster and more reliable manipulation, especially in high-stress situations.

Slide lock function:

When the last BB is fired, the empty magazine follower pushes up the slide stop, which then engages a notch on the slide, holding the slide in the rearward position.

This visually indicates that the magazine is empty and needs to be reloaded.

Slide release function:

Once a new magazine is inserted, the user can either chamber a new round by pulling the slide back and releasing it, or by pressing down on the slide stop/release lever.

This is often referred to as a "slide release", and pressing it allows the slide to slam forward, chambering the first round and getting the pistol ready to fire again.
