The fill nipple allows compressed air to enter the tank during filling, while the internal back-check mechanism helps prevent pressurized air from flowing back out through the fill port.

This assembly includes the back-check strut and O-ring seal along with a protective rubber fill-nipple cover to help keep dirt and debris away from the fill fitting.
