The Kingman Spyder VS/RS series urethane ball detent (BLS003) is a part that holds paintballs in the breach to prevent double-feeding, ensuring a consistent and reliable feeding of paintballs into the marker's firing chamber. 

• Function: The detent is a small, rubber or urethane piece that sits in the path of the paintball. Its primary purpose is to stop a second ball from rolling into the breach while the first ball is being loaded.

• Mechanism: It acts as a soft ball stop, preventing double feeds without damaging the paintball. When the marker is fired, the pressure from the first paintball forces it past the detent, and then the detent quickly returns to its position to hold the next ball.

• Role: By preventing double feeds, the detent ensures smooth and efficient feeding of paintballs, which is crucial for preventing jams and maintaining a consistent rate of fire.

• Material: The use of a urethane or rubber material for the detent is intentional. This material is flexible enough to allow the paintball to pass through but firm enough to hold it in place, and allows the bolt to cycle with minimal resistance.
