The Retro Arms POM piston with 19 steel teeth offers increased durability and performance, thanks to its strong, heat-treated steel teeth and lightweight yet reinforced polymer body. It is designed to handle high-stress and high-speed builds, features a "shaved" final tooth to improve the angle of engagement and reduce premature wear, and is ideal for specific replicas like the SR25 and SA80 that use a longer gearbox with 19-tooth gears. 

Durability and strength

Reinforced polymer body: The body is injection-molded from a polymer infused with carbon fiber and molybdenum, making it strong, durable, and resistant to breakdown from lubricants.

CNC-milled steel teeth: The 19 teeth are CNC-milled from steel, heat-treated to a hardness of 52-54 HRC, which provides excellent wear resistance.

Robust construction: The piston is built to be robust and can handle strong springs and high-stress use. 

Performance and longevity

Improved angle of engagement: The final tooth is "shaved" to help improve the angle of engagement, which reduces stress on the piston and other components, leading to longer life.

Reduced friction: The lightweight construction and specific polymer used reduce friction and power loss.
